The Police Department is a full-service public safety agency that provides law enforcement, code enforcement, emergency communications, and animal control services to the citizens of Rio Rancho.

It is our mission to provide quality public safety services to protect life, property and the constitutional rights of the people in Rio Rancho.

This mission is accomplished by hiring quality personnel, providing ongoing training, and equipping our personnel with what they need to solve community problems.

This form should only be used for reporting the following: criminal damage under $1,000; lost property under $1,000; shoplifting under $500 and no suspect; larceny under $500; falsely obtaining services under $500; petty fraud or embezzlement under $500; civil issues; and informational reports. If what you have to report does not fall within these catagories, please call the non-emergency number at (505) 891-7226 or if you have an actual emergency, call 911.

For those seeking copies of crash and incident reports, the Police Department Records Division open hours to the public are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (closed for lunch 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.).
