The Rio Rancho Police Department Records Division is located at 500 Quantum Rd. N.E. (lobby area).  The office telephone number is (505) 891-5904. 

 

Hours of Operation – Public Window

Monday – Friday: 9:00 – 3:00 p.m. (except city holidays)

1:00 - 2:00 p.m. closed daily for lunch

Saturday – Sunday:  Closed

 

This change in hours is temporary and will be in effect until further notice.

The change in hours is based on current staffing levels, and will assist with the timely processing of information and response to public records requests.


 

 

To obtain a copy of a Police Report

The requester must describe the records sought in sufficient detail to enable the records technician to identify and locate the requested records.  Fees will apply for Police Records Requests and will be received in advance of receipt of records.

  • COST: $ .25 per page
  • (Fax and e-mail requests are not accepted)
  • Records Division is not the custodian of traffic citations and cannot answer any questions or provide copies of citations.  If you would like to obtain a copy or have questions regarding traffic citation(s) please contact Municipal Court. 
  • Print and complete a written request form and either mail your request with payment or present it to the Records Division; (or)
  • If you are not able to print the Report Request Form either mail the following information with your payment (or) be prepared to provide the following information to the Records Division:
  •                     Date of Request
  •                     Time of Request
  •                     Requesting person or Agency Name
  •                     Address
  •                     Phone Number
  •                     Record Type (Crash or Offense/Incident)
  •                     Case Number (If available)
  •                     Victim / Offender / Driver’s Name
  •                     Date of Occurrence
  •                     Time of Occurrence
  •                     Identification may be required to obtain all Records Requests

 

 

To obtain a Record of Search for Personal Criminal History / Background

  • Print and complete a written request form and either mail your request with a self-addressed envelope and payment (or) present it to the Records Division.
  • If you are not able to print the Report Request Form either mail the following information with your payment (or) be prepared to provide the following information to the Records Division:
  •                     Date of Request
  •                     Time of Request
  •                     Requesting Person or Agency Information (Name, Address, Contact No.)
  •                    The following information on the individual you are requesting the background on:
  1. Name
  2. Address
  3. DOB
  4. SSN
  • COST: $10.00 per person searched
  • The Record of Search is for the City of Rio Rancho jurisdiction ONLY

 

OTHER FEE’S:  

Fingerprint Services:  $10.00 per card, cards must be provided by customer

Hours:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10 to 12

Method of Payment:  Cash, Credit Card or local check

 

 

OTHER INFORMATION:  

 

The Police Records Division must provide a record immediately or as soon as practicable but no later than fifteen (15) calendar days after the records custodian receives a written request. If a request for records is not permitted within three (3) business days, the person making the request will receive a written response explaining why it is not available for release or if other arrangements need to be made. If any of the records sought are not available for public inspection, the person making the request is entitled to a written response from the Police Records Division explaining the reasons inspection has been denied. The written denial shall be delivered or mailed within fifteen (15) calendar days after the Police Records Division received the request for inspection.
